Law enforcement officials confirmed that the shooter returned to the gathering and continued firing, later pursuing some individuals to a nearby residence on North Jessup Street. A seventh victim was discovered at North 22nd and West Susquehanna with a back injury.

Why am I NOT surprised that a young black man opened fire on a group of people? The gun is probably acquired illegally. The young man has mental problems and probably drug problems. I hope I’m wrong, but the statistics are on my side. He will plead not guilty and his court appointed attorney will plead that this is a poor young man society forgot. No father, school dropout, single parent upbringing. This combination of facts is supposed to give him a license to kill. Society is pretty far gone when this series of events occurs weekly and no one is surprised.
