Sometimes it only takes one person to stand up and make a difference. A startling discovery reveals how smugglers use slave ledgers to traffic women and children into the United States. Jaco Booyens, an anti-trafficking activist, uncovered “slave ledgers” used by smugglers to track migrants. The Ledger contains detailed information about children and owed debts, which are typically less than $9,000 per person. He advocates for stricter enforcement of US immigration laws than what the US has been doing.

The Grim Reality of Human Trafficking at the Southern Border

Jaco Booyens, a well-known anti-sex trafficking activist, has exposed a disturbing practice used by smugglers to traffic women and children into the United States via the southern border. Booyens discovered what he calls a “slave ledger” among a group of migrants, exposing the calculated and inhumane nature of trafficking operations.

The ledger, a stark reminder of the commodification of human lives, meticulously lists the names of children and the sums owed for their smuggling. According to Booyens, smugglers typically charge around $8,500 per person, with families often paying small sums up front and repaying the remainder at exorbitant interest rates.

The Dark Economics of Human Smuggling.

The existence of these ledgers reveals the ruthless business model driving human trafficking. Migrants are tracked by cartels and forced to repay their debts through prostitution or labor, with threats of violence against themselves or their families if they do not comply. This debt bondage system traps people in an exploitation cycle that is nearly impossible to break free from.

“For all intents and purposes, it is a slave ledger.” Jaco Booyens.

During the ongoing southern border crisis, smuggling operations have intensified. While the Biden administration has stated its intention to target transnational smuggling organizations, critics argue that “open borders” policies have unintentionally encouraged illegal migration and fueled the trafficking industry.

Demands for Action and Policy Reform

Booyens emphasizes the critical need to follow existing US immigration laws as a first step in combating human trafficking. He claims that the current situation, in which immigration laws are not strictly enforced, creates an environment that allows traffickers to operate with impunity.

Border security and immigration reform have become major issues in the upcoming presidential election. Recent polls show that former President Trump leads Vice President Harris on border security issues, highlighting public concern about the current state of immigration policy and its implications for national security and human rights.

A Call to Action.

The discovery of these “slave ledgers” serves as a stark reminder of the human toll of ineffective border policies. It emphasizes the critical need for comprehensive immigration reform that addresses both national security concerns and the humanitarian crisis on the southern border.

As the debate continues, the lives of countless vulnerable people hang in the balance, trapped in a modern-day form of slavery that necessitates immediate and decisive action from policymakers and law enforcement.

  1. The cartels make so much money. I know people in California who have been ripped off for thousands of dollars as the low life scum call and tell them that they have taken family members hostage, whose screams and yells can be heard in the background, and require them to send thousands to strangers in Mexico via Walmart’s money services (Ria, etc.). Local police do nothing to protect Americans. Nothing. Hopefully, Donald Trump will care and do something.
